The University of St. Thomas received a commitment from former Wayzata High School Hockey Captain Carson Peters. The 19-year-old was a key part of an extremely tight defensive unit that propelled Wayzata to The Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament last April.
After getting a cup of coffee playing junior hockey in the NAHL early last season, the 6’3, 192-pound defenseman has settled into a regular role, playing LD for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL this season. Through 27 games Peters has supplied the Roughriders with solid defense and 7 points.
Peters is the second USHL defenseman to commit to UST in recent days as Will Staring of the Green Bay Gamblers committed on January 20th. It is currently unknown when Peters will join the UST blueline.
