Thief River Falls native Spencer Anderson has announced his commitment to play college hockey at Miami University (Ohio), adding another Minnesota talent to the RedHawks’ pipeline.
Anderson has been a consistent offensive presence in the high school ranks, recording 59 points in 48 games over two seasons with Thief River Falls. His performance earned him a spot in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League last fall, where he continued to impress against top regional competition.
His stock rose quickly on the junior and major junior draft boards. In 2024, Anderson was selected in the 2nd round (29th overall) of the WHL Prospects Draft by the Spokane Chiefs. A year later, he was chosen in the 3rd round (37th overall) of the 2025 USHL Draft (Phase 1), showing the broad interest in his skill set across North America. He was also part of the NAHL Futures Draft, where he was the first overall selection in 2025.
