Little Falls native Ryan Oothoudt has announced his commitment to play Division I college hockey at the United States Air Force Academy, taking the next step in a standout hockey career that continues to trend upward.
Oothoudt was a three-year impact player for the Little Falls Flyers, where he compiled 100 points in 82 career games, including a breakout senior season with 24 goals and 28 assists in 27 games. Known for his consistency and leadership, Oothoudt anchored the Flyers’ top line and was a major catalyst in their offensive success.
Air Force is adding a forward with a strong combination of skill, size, and responsibility. Oothoudt plays a reliable three-zone game, showing equal commitment to offensive creation and defensive detail. He’s assertive along the boards, competes hard in front of the net, and possesses a high hockey IQ that allows him to make smart reads and quick decisions under pressure.
Next season, Oothoudt will continue his development at the junior level, suiting up for the St. Cloud Norsemen of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), where he’ll have the opportunity to refine his game against older competition before heading to Colorado Springs.
