Max Cullen Commits to UMD

Moorhead’s Max Cullen has committed to play his college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, adding another great prospect to the Bulldogs’ pipeline.

The skilled forward was a key member of last year’s Moorhead Spuds team that captured the Minnesota State High School Hockey Championship. As a sophamore, Cullen posted 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in 30 games, an impressive debut season at the high school level.

With several departures from Moorhead’s roster this offseason, Cullen is expected to take on a larger role and be leaned on heavily for production and leadership. He’s already off to a hot start in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League, recording five points in his first three games.

UMD is getting a responsible, 200-foot forward who blends skill with reliability, and Cullen projects as a player who can make an impact at both ends of the ice once he arrives in Duluth.
