It’s a family affair for the Gophers, as Brooks Cullen has committed to Minnesota just one day after his brother Wyatt announced his own commitment. Cullen had previously committed to Michigan State University late last year but ultimately chose to reopen his recruitment and remain in the “State of Hockey” for his college career.
A driving force behind Moorhead’s Class AA state championship, Cullen played a key role in the Spuds’ run to the title at the 2025 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. He posted three goals and three assists in three games in St. Paul and finished the season with 48 points in 29 games. His standout year earned him a spot as a finalist for the prestigious Mr. Hockey Award.
Following the high school season, Cullen joined the Fargo Force of the USHL, registering two points in 10 games. He is expected to return to Fargo for the 2025–26 season with an expanded role as he continues his development before joining the Gophers.
With both Cullen brothers now committed, the Gophers are adding two of top homegrown talents, bringing leadership, production, and championship experience to their future lineup.
