Blake Vanek has officially signed a Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Wenatchee Wild of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Vanek was a key piece in Stillwater’s run to the 2025 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament, scoring 22 goals and 31 assists in 29 games this season. Over the course of his high school career, Vanek racked up an impressive 114 points in 79 games.
Following the high school season, Vanek made the jump to the Chicago Steel in the USHL, where he continued to shine. In 9 games, he tallied 4 goals and 1 assist, including a memorable hat trick against the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP) on March 23rd.
With this move, Vanek becomes the fifth Minnesotan to sign with the Wenatchee Wild. Remarkably, four of those five signees played in the State Tournament Championship Game this past March.
