The Penticton Vees are tapping into Minnesota’s hockey pipeline in a big way and Brittan Alstead is the latest to make the leap. The former Wayzata standout has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement, becoming the third Minnesotan to sign with the Vees this week, joining fellow State of Hockey products Brooks DeMars and A.J. Reyelts.
Alstead carved out a stellar high school career at Wayzata, tallying 91 points in 83 games over three seasons from 2021–24. Known for his hockey sense and reliable two-way play, he was a key part of the Trojans’ consistent success during that span.
This past season, Alstead took the next step in his development with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL, where he notched 9 goals and 14 assists in 54 games. He adjusted quickly to the pace of junior hockey.
A 2006-born forward, Alstead is no stranger to the national stage. He earned invites to both the USA Hockey U16 and U17 National Development Camps, further cementing his status as a high-end prospect.
