2024 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament

Congrats to Edina on winning the Boys Class AA Minnesota State Tournament Championship. Bobby Cowan scored the GWG and goalie Joe Bertram made 33 saves in the victory.

St. Cloud Cathedral won the Boys Class A Minnesota State Tournament Championship. Andrew Dwinnell had two goals and an assist, while Nick Hansen made 28 saves in the win over Hermantown.

The Edina, Chanhassen game was the last Minnesota High School Hockey game that legendary announcer Lou Nanne will call. Nanne has been a highlight of the tournament for the past 60 years.

Hunter Bauer is a player that has a lot of hockey in front of him. Although his time at Grand Rapids has come to an end, the talented defender has proven his ability to play at the next level this year and looked especially tough to beat in the State Tournament.

2009 DOB Freddie Schneider showed his abilities on the state’s biggest stage for Edina. He will be a name you’ll be hearing a ton of in the coming years.

AJ Fransico was not able to add a state championship to his resume, but he impressed everyone with a pulse during the State Tournament, scoring in all three games played, totaling 5 goals and an assist. The versatile 2008 DOB won a gold metal at the Youth Olympics in early February and will be in consideration to play with the NTDP next year.

John Hirschfeld was the MVP of the Class A State Champions, St. Cloud Cathedral. The junior forward showcased his speed and stick skills while scoring 8 points in the 3 games. Not to mention the 2 clutch goals he had against Hermantown that sent the Crusaders to the Championship.

Harper Searles ended his high school career with another 3 point game, bringing his total to 199 points over four years. Centennial won the Consolation Championship.

…..Dito for Carson Pilgrim of Warroad, he scored 3 points, finishing his high school career with 193 points. Crason will play college hockey at the University of North Dakota

Cretin Took third place in Class AA. A player that played extremely well was Jimmy Dodig, shutting the door on a lot of scoring chances while creating offense himself by making a lot of nice rushes up ice. The Merrimack commit scored a goal and added an assist in the win over Grand Rapids.
