Six Minnesotans were named to the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games US Hockey team. The event takes place in Gangwon, South Korea from January 19th to February 1st.
Lausanne, Switzerland was the previous location the event was held, in January of 2020. The Minnesotans on that roster were Ryan Chesley, Maddox Fleming, Jimmy Snuggerud, Charlie Stramel, and Cruz Lucius. All five ended up making the U.S. National U17 Team.
I recently polled five Minnesota area scouts that follow the 2008 age group extensively for their top 2008 Minnesotans, and the six that were named to the team are the same six that were ranked the highest by these scouts. I’ll have the full rankings up in the next week.
So, all early indications are that these are six of the Minnesotans that will be invited to the US Developmental Camp in March.
