The excitement is starting to build as the beginning of the Division I Era at St. Thomas is just over six weeks away. While the schedule has been released and the coaching staff is in place (we think), it is time to look at the players that will be part of this St. Thomas squad. The following are the 8 players that the Tommies have picked up via the NCAA transfer portal. In the coming days we will look at the freshman class and returning players that will have an impact on the 2021-22 University of St. Thomas Men’s Hockey team.

-Thome Should be the starting netminder for the Tommies this season after primarily being a backup at North Dakota for 4 years
-Thome has had success at the D1 level as he has displayed stretches of being dominate when given the chance. In 2019-20 Thome posted a 7-1-2 with a 1.37 GAA and .935 SV%
-Thome, who did not start playing hockey until the age of 12, was a 6th-round draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2016
-NCAA D1 Experience: 42 games (19-14-5) with a 2.24 GAA and .903 SV%
Ethan Gauer, Sophomore Defenseman
