Wild Select Marco Rossi at 9

The Wild had a deep need to add a top caliber center and they accomplished that with selecting Marco Rossi with the 9th pick of the 2020 NHL Draft. You don’t win the CHL scoring by accident as Rossi did with his 120 points in 56 games last season. The talented centerman has a high hockey IQ and plays bigger than his 5’9 frame. Rossi, built like a Pitbull, is tough to knock off the puck and can win battles in tight spaces and on the walls. Expect Rossi in the Wild lineup in 2021-22 season, although Marco wants to be playing at ‘The X’ this season.

Marco Rossi hype video:

-His father, Michael Rossi, played professional hockey in Austria for 20 seasons as a defenseman.

-Rossi is known for his scoring but his defense makes him a complete player. Rossi has great puck protection and is an absolute pest when chasing down opponents.

-Rossi won the OHL Most Outstanding Player (Red Tilson Trophy) and led the league with a ridiculous +69.

-Rossi was the first European player to lead the OHL in scoring since Stan Mikita.
