A.J. Reyelts, a standout goaltender and native of Proctor, has announced his commitment to play college hockey for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), bringing his journey full circle as he returns to the Northland to suit up for the hometown Bulldogs.
Reyelts spent the 2024–25 season in the USHL with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, where he handled a heavy workload and appeared in 44 games, compiling a 21-19-4 record. He finished the year with a 2.66 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage.
Before making the jump to junior hockey, Reyelts starred at Proctor High School, where he was named a finalist for the 2024 Frank Brimsek Award, given annually to Minnesota’s top senior goaltender. His strong high school performance and consistent play helped cement his reputation as one of the state’s top goalie prospects.
Most recently, Reyelts signed with the Penticton Vees of the WHL, adding another chapter to his already diverse development path. After his time in Penticton, he will transition to the NCAA ranks with UMD.
Originally committed to Lindenwood University, Reyelts has now chosen to come home and represent one of Minnesota’s most storied college hockey programs.
