Rock Ridge junior forward Caz Carlson has committed to play Division I college hockey at St. Cloud State University.

Carlson, a 2007-born standout, made the announcement via Instagram. Caz had a breakout season that saw him rise into the conversation as one of the state’s premier forwards. He racked up 54 points (23 goals, 31 assists) in 27 games for the Wolverines, showcasing a dynamic blend of skill, vision, and compete level.

Following his high school season, Carlson joined the Watertown Shamrocks of the NAHL, gaining valuable junior experience and further proving he can compete at a high level.

With his college decision now made, Carlson’s future is set for now, but there’s still some intrigue. If he returns to Rock Ridge for his senior season, he’ll enter the year as a candidate for the prestigious Mr. Hockey Award, given annually to Minnesota’s top senior high school hockey player.

St. Cloud State is getting an elite competitor with offensive instincts and leadership qualities to match.
