Rosemount junior forward Cade Sherman has officially committed to Augustana University, adding a skilled and hardworking presence to the Vikings’ hockey program.
Sherman has been a standout for Rosemount, showcasing his offensive abilities with 20 goals and 23 assists in just 22 games this season. Cade has recorded 64 points in 55 games, demonstrating his ability to produce consistently at a high level.
Sherman has soft hands and excellent vision; he has the ability to read plays and make smart decisions under pressure. His quick shot release allows him to capitalize on scoring opportunities with minimal setup, making him a constant threat in the offensive zone.
During a recent viewing Sherman was all over the puck and funneling the play towards the net. During one sequence he nearly scored by attempting to send a quick bank-shot off the goalie into the net. He continued to dial up the heat in the slot and later was rewarded by sending home a rebound with zero hesitation. Sherman has that true scoring mentality.
As he transitions to the NCAA level, Sherman’s combination of skill and determination will make him a valuable asset for Augustana. With continued development, he has the potential to be a key piece of the Vikings’ lineup, bringing both offensive production and leadership to the program.
