Back Checking the Weekend of 10/25/2024 to 10/27/2024

-The Moorhead Bantam AA team took care of business against Shattuck St. Mary’s U14 squad, defeating them 12-5 on Saturday and 5-3 on Sunday. Shattuck entered the weekend at the #1 team in the country and had a record of 15-1-1. The two wins for Moorhead were their first two games of the season. Henry Buttweiler (2010 DOB) scored 5 goals in the two games.

-Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine won the Upper Midwest Elite League 4-2 with a win over Twin Cities Orthopedics. Cole Braunshausen (St. Thomas Academy) scored the GWG while Easton Cody (Centennial) made 42 saves in the game.

-Congrats to Carson Pilgrim (Warroad) and Kade Stengrim (Brainerd) on scoring their first USHL goals this weekend.

-Jordan Ronn, a Champlin Park native and Minnesota State recruit scored 4 goals for Fargo of the USHL on Friday night, putting him at 6 on the season.

-The Gophers swept the Tommies in the battle of the Twin Cities. The Maroon and Gold outscored St. Thomas 13-3 over the two games, improving their record to 5-1 while the Tommies fall to 1-3-1 on the young season.

-The Gophers Connor Kurth (Elk River) is 3rd in the nation in scoring with 12 points and tops among Minnesota born players.

-St. Cloud State is now sitting at 6-1-0 on the season with their one loss coming to Michigan 0-3, a team that they also defeated 4-0.

-Jackson Strukel suffered a right-leg injury this weekend in Elite League play and looks to miss some time. We’re sending get well wishes his way. Strukel is a top 2008 defenseman that scored 35 points as a freshman for Hibbing/Chisholm High School last season and played very well this fall in the Elite League, scoring 17 points in 21 games.
