Moorhead junior forward Zac Zimmerman has announced his commitment to Minnesota State University, adding another major milestone to what has already been an impressive young career.
Zimmerman opened the season in the USHL with the Fargo Force, recording 7 points in 17 games before deciding to return home to Moorhead for his junior season. The Fargo, North Dakota native has stepped right back into a leading role, posting 3 points in his first two games for the Spuds, who enter the year as the No. 1–rated team in Minnesota high school hockey.
His path to this point has been consistently upward. Zimmerman was a Bantam State Champion, a key piece of last year’s Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament Championship team, and has been selected to multiple USA Hockey Select Camps, where he’s routinely stood out among his age group. His blend of pace, skill, and offensive confidence has also placed him firmly on the radar as a 2026 NHL Draft prospect.
