Teddy Townsend Named MN Hockey Life Player of the Week
Waterloo Black Hawks forward and Eden Prairie native Teddy Townsend has been named the MN Hockey Life Player of the Week after a standout performance in the Clark Cup Finals. Townsend erupted for a hat trick and an assist in Game 1 on Friday night, helping lead Waterloo to an 8-5 victory over Muskegon. He followed it up with another assist in Game 2, as Muskegon evened the best-of-five series at one game apiece.
A University of Minnesota commit, Townsend has been electric throughout the USHL Playoffs, tallying 9 goals and 4 assists in 12 games. During the regular season, he posted 40 points in 56 games for the Black Hawks, consistently showcasing his scoring touch and hockey IQ.
Known for his two-way reliability and offensive flair, Townsend will be a valuable addition to the Gophers’ lineup next fall.
The Clark Cup Finals continue with Game 3 on May 16 in Muskegon, Michigan.
