Marcus Matyas has earned this week’s MN Hockey Life Player of the Week honors after a standout showing at the High Performance Final 54, where his strong performance secured him a spot at the prestigious USA Hockey Boys Select 17 National Development Camp this July in Amherst, New York.

Matyas has been a force for Blue Army this week at the World Selects Invitational in Philadelphia, tying for the team lead in scoring with 4 goals and 8 assists through six games. His contributions have helped propel the squad to an unbeaten record, with Matyas consistently playing a key role in both transition and offensive zone execution.

A product of Cretin-Derham Hall High School, Matyas recorded 29 points in 28 games this past season and continues to show steady growth in his game. Recent viewings have highlighted notable improvements in his acceleration and ability to make plays in tight areas, both of which are elevating him to another level as a prospect.

With skill, work ethic, and a great hockey sense, Marcus Matyas is a player on the rise with a bright future ahead.
