Jimmy Egan Commits to Arizona State University

Jimmy Egan, a talented forward and Mahtomedi, Minnesota native, has committed to play Division I college hockey at Arizona State University.

The 2008 DOB played this past season with the Sioux Falls Power 16U team, where he was a standout performer. In just 26 games, he tallied 45 points (15 goals, 30 assists), showcasing his offensive instincts, vision, and ability to make an impact every time he touched the ice.

Prior to joining Sioux Falls Power, Egan played two seasons with Mahtomedi High School, where he helped lead the Zephyrs to back-to-back State Tournament appearances, including being a key part of the 2023 Class A State Championship team.

His development and production didn’t go unnoticed, Egan was selected 42nd overall in the 3rd round of the 2024 Phase I USHL Draft by the Omaha Lancers. He made his USHL debut this spring, appearing in 3 games with Omaha at the conclusion of the season.

Arizona State continues to strengthen its program by adding dynamic, high-character players like Egan. His combination of skill, hockey sense, and winning pedigree makes him a strong fit for the Sun Devils’ up-tempo style and growing NCAA presence.
