Big Things Coming for Connor Schubert of Rosemount

Connor Schubert is steadily building a case to be one of the top emerging talents in Minnesota high school hockey next season. After what he showed us as a sophomore, it’s clear he’s on track for a big jump in production and impact.

The Rosemount junior-to-be tallied 12 goals and 12 assists in his sophomore campaign, showing flashes of brilliance throughout the season. He was impressive in the section playoffs, when the pressure was on, scoring three goals in two games, playing with a confidence that suggests something special is on the horizon.

Schubert blends a sharp offensive toolkit with a high-energy motor. His puck-rushing skills stand out as he finds open space well, excels in 1v1 situations, and possesses a quick, deceptive shot that keeps goalies guessing. What sets him apart even more is his ability to change speeds mid-rush, creating confusion and opening up scoring opportunities.

In the offensive zone, he never stops moving. This constant motion creates headaches for defenders and forces opposing teams onto their heels. He has a unique ability to anticipate where the play is going, rather than just reacting to where it is.

His development trajectory has already shown promise. After making a significant leap from first-year bantams to his second-year, expect him to take a similar jump as he enters his junior season. With Rosemount likely leaning on him more heavily next year, Schubert is poised for a big step in production.

His sophomore season was a solid debut, but don’t be surprised if Connor Schubert takes a bigger step forward next winter.
