Stock Going Up For These 2009’s

Cash Hardie of Minnetonka Bantam AA

As we know, this is a big year for 2009 prospects as they are scouted heavily by numerous junior leagues and the NTDP. The listed players have shown great development this season and deserve to be recognized. Listed are just five of many prospects making a name for themselves and raising their prospect stock.

Cash Hardie, Forward, Minnetonka Bantam AA: Cash is a dynamic forward with impressive speed and quickness, complemented by solid size. He has a strong scoring drive and a natural ability to finish plays but is also capable of setting up teammates with his playmaking ability. He’s the straw that stirs the drink for Minnetonka, who is one of the top bantam teams in the state. His hands are deft, allowing him to navigate tight spaces and make skilled plays. Hardie’s versatility as both a scorer and a playmaker make him a well-rounded offensive threat.

Luke Christopherson, Defenseman, Two Rivers: Christopherson is a dynamic defenseman that uses quickness and ability to move the puck effectively. Luke’s technical skating skills are exceptional, allowing him to navigate the ice with ease and maintain control under pressure. If you have the opportunity, watch his edgework, it’s elite. Christopherson excels in transitioning the play from defense to offense, often initiating breakouts with precise passes. His agility and speed make him a valuable asset in both ends of the rink, contributing to his team’s defensive stability and offensive opportunities. Christopherson has 32 points in 17 games as a freshman defenseman.

Gunnar Conboy, Forward, Lakeville North: Conboy is a balanced skater with excellent puck-winning ability, consistently winning battles along the boards and in tight areas. As a sophomore captain of Lakeville, he plays a major role in all situations, logging heavy minutes and leading by example. His combination of leadership, grit, and skill makes him an invaluable asset to his team and will adjust well when its his time to move up a level. Gunnar has 29 points in 18 games this season.

Nolan Fitzhenry, Forward, Shattuck St. Mary’s U16: It’s one thing to make the Shattuck U-16’s as an underager, it’s another to lead them in scoring through 38 games with 70 points. Fitzhenry is quick with the puck, he gets it and instantly goes on the hunt, showing an understanding to the game that few possess. Nolan has done everything in his power to be playing in the Red, White, and Blue next season as he’s a top 2009 in the nation. Time will tell if this is the case.

Bennet Bergloff, Forward, Cambridge-Isanti: After starting the season with Sioux Falls U15’s, Bennett had a short adjustment period to high school hockey, but has really come on in the past weeks. Bergloff is a highly skilled forward with a quick release and exceptional accuracy, making him a constant scoring threat. His shifty skating allows him to evade defenders and create space in tight areas. With a solid first touch on the puck, he’s able to handle passes smoothly and transition into scoring opportunities quickly. Bergloff’s combination of speed, finesse, and finishing ability makes him a dangerous player in both even-strength and power-play situations. Bennett was above a point-per-game in AAA with Sioux Falls and has 31 points in 18 games with Cambridge-Isanti.
