It’s a big year for the 2009’s as scouts will be watching their every move as the NTDP Camp and USHL Draft looms next spring. Here are a few (not all) 2009’s to keep close tabs on this high school season. More 2009 news and notes coming soon.

Ryland Rooney (Forward, Gentry Academy) Back at for Gentry after a short stint with the Long Island Gulls. Scored 22 points in 27 games as a freshman.

Freddie Schneider (Forward, Edina) Bantam AA and High School Championships the last two seasons. What’s next? 27 points as a freshman and 25 points in 19 games in the Elite League. A top 2009 in the state.

Gunner Conboy (Forward, Lakeville North) A no nonsense forward that led North in scoring last season and will be expected to carry the load this season.

Carson Scott (Defenseman, Hill-Murray) Minutes will have to be earned on a deep Pioneers Blueline.

Spencer Anderson (Forward, Thief River Falls) The leading returning scorer from last season’s team with 32 points. Big things ahead this season as he takes the next step in his development.

Marcus Matyas (Forward, Cretin) Played a top 6 role for Cretin last season, expect a big season from the sophomore who could be WHL bound after the season.

Luke Christopherson (Defenseman, Two Rivers) A composed puck moving defenseman that is an excellent skater.

Benjamin Geiger (Defenseman, Northfield) Lanky blueliner will look to lead Northfield back to the State Tournament.

Becker Wenkus (Defenseman, Edina) Excellent Bantam player looks for a smooth transition to the Edina blueline.

Jonathan Bloedow (Forward, Cretin) Another top bantam that is a must watch on a loaded Raiders team.
