Minnesota High School Hockey Notes 1/8/2024

La Crescent-Hokah forward Wyatt Farrell had 4 goals against Austin last Thursday, giving him 29 on the season and 172 for his high school career. Wyatt is just 24 goals away from Ben Hanowski’s state record of 196. Louie Wehmann of Providence Academy is 2nd among active players with 107 goals.

Speaking of Louie Wehmann: Providence Academy has scored 50 goals this season,….Wehmann has 26 of those goals!

Braeden Waller of St. Michael-Albertville is a prospect to watch. The 2009 Freshman has been impressive this season, showing strength on the puck and great acceleration. Waller has 6 points in 12 games. The Knights are only 3-9 this season but they have a ton of young talent and can expect steady growth in the next couple of years.

Former Lakeville South standout Ashton Dahms Has committed to UMD. Dahms put up 28 points in 25 games for the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL before being promoted to the USHL, where he has 5 points in 7 games with Des Moines.

St. Thomas Academy defenseman Patch Cronin committed to Colgate University. Patch will join his brother Tommy, who committed to Colgate last year.

What a Night for Harper Searles against Coon Rapids on Saturday! The Centennial forward scored 8 points in a win over Coon Rapids on 3 goals and 5 assists.

Two Rivers defeated Hill-Murray 3-2 in OT giving them their first victory ever against Hill-Murray. Goaltender Brady Altier made 56 saves in the game. Altier is 10-4 on the season with a 2.05 GAA and .924 SV%. Two Rivers played Hill-Murray tough last year as well, skating to a 1-0 loss.
