In two games last week Ryan Lund scored five goals and added two assists against two Class A powerhouses. The senior defenseman scored a goal and an assist in a game against Orono on Friday night and then absolutely went off against Mahtomedi on Saturday, torching the Zephyrs with 4 goals, including the overtime winner.
Everything seemed to click for Lund during the Saturday matinee against Mahtomedi, scoring two of his goals on the rush, another on a wrister and the winner on a quick one-timer. The four goals and five points on the afternoon were career highs and Lund now has 81 career points in just 66 games played. Ryan Leads the Warriors in points with 10 in four games.
Lund remains uncommitted for the time being, but whoever he decides to play college hockey for is getting a hulking, body-clearing defenseman that can rush the puck. Lund possesses great hands and stickhandling, especially for a player of his stature. He uses his body well to protect the puck and wins a high percentage of his 1v1 battles.
Next up for Lund and the Warriors: Rock Ridge (12/8) on Friday Night and a tilt vs Grand Rapids on Saturday (12/9).
