It doesn’t take Einstein to figure out the top 4 teams in the rankings, but after that things start to get interesting. Lakeville South enters the Top 10 but they have one of the next difficult schedules in the state over the next three weeks. It’s time to see if South sinks or swims.
1) Minnetonka 6-0: The Skippers have outscored their opponents 37 to 5. Power play is hovering around 40%
2) Wayzata 7-0: Anyone on the roster could step in and play a big roll, they have major depth.
3) Chanhassen 6-3: The Chanhassen we thought we would get at the beginning of the season has emerged. St Louis Park is heading ‘into the Storm’ at the wrong time.
4) Edina 7-1: Schneider is a blue-chip prospect making an impact as an 09. Bertram is legit and underrated.
5) Benilde 6-1: only blemish is to Wayzata, the Knights have Holy Family next.
6) Rosemount 8-1: The Irish keep winning. Cade Sherman has been impressive as of late and Hans Hedlund is underrated. Hermantown up next.
7) Rogers 6-1-1, The Chanhassen loss stings, but this will happen with a young team. We will see how they regroup vs Buffalo.
8) Hill-Murray 4-1-1: All eyes will be on the Rivalry vs. White Bear Lake on Saturday.
9) Maple Grove 5-2: The Crimson are off until the 27th when the play Chanhassen.
10) Lakeville South 5-0: one of the few unbeaten teams left in Class AA. The must take care of Shakopee to stay in the top 10 as a lot of teams are making a run.
