Here are the Top 10 Class AA Minnesota High School Hockey teams right now. These rankings will be released every Wednesday throughout the season. I figure everyone needs a little mid-week update.
I’m not ready to give Minnetonka the State Tourney Championship Trophy just yet, but man have they looked good.
1. Minnetonka 2-0: The Skippers have started off the season on a roll, outscoring their opponents 18-2. Stillwater is next up.
2. Edina 3-0: Skill up and down the roster…. Get out and watch freshman Freddie Schnider. Edina plays Benilde on Saturday.
3. Rogers 2-0: Nice win over STA, goaltending will be the key to their success. A young Moorhead team up next.
4. Wayzata 2-0: Suffocating pressure in all three zones. Luke Miller does not get enough credit. Duluth East will be the next test.
5. Chanhassen 1-2: Gavin Uhlenkamp and the crew got off on the wrong foot but there is way too much talent to not be top 5. Prior Lake up next and a meeting with #1 Minnetonka is coming on December 7th.
6. White Bear Lake 1-0: Balanced lineup with skill and grit. A good Rosemount team is up next.
7. Hill-Murray 0-0: Start the season against Eden Prairie on Thursday. This is probably too low of a ranking, expect them to rise.
8. St. Thomas Academy 1-1: A close lose to Rogers and a drubbing of Simley. Eastview will be the next challenge.
9. Cretin-Derham Hall 0-0: They will jump into the deep end right off the bat with a game against Hermantown.
10. Holy Family 0-0: This roster is deeper than some realize. They get things started against Prior Lake on Saturday.
