Parker Deschene has received a lot of well-deserved buzz as of late, as the masses are recognizing the undeniable talent that the 2007 DOB possesses. After a great fall, playing for the Minnesota Blades, Parker has been a dynamic force upfront for Rogers High School, scoring 15 goals and 22 assists in 23 games played.
Parker’s game is fed from 2 elite attributes: hockey sense and skating. He’s a compact package that has tremendous agility and sharp edges. He possesses a nice wide base and gets great extension on his stride. Has a quick burst, helping him get separation on the defense gain positioning. His wide base aids good balance and helps him absorb checks from the opposition. His hockey IQ grades very high as he can slow the game down and process the play. His passing is sharp and with pace and his shooting is adequate and accurate.
Deschene has showcased over the past six months that he’s not just a top 2007 in Minnesota, but in the country. His skill and smarts outweighs any preconceived limits of his size and should be a contender of getting a NTDP Camp invite or a draft pick in the 2023 USHL Draft (Phase 1).
