Attila Lippai will be staying home and playing his college hockey for the University of St. Thomas. The St. Paul native put up 17 goals and 15 assists in 28 games last season for Cretin-Derham Hall. Lippai has continued his progression and has been a constant threat in the Elite League this fall, putting up 30 points in just 20 games.
Lippai will bring a lot of skill up front to St. Thomas, as he’s a high energy player that goes full throttle every shift. Lippai is a quick player that is exceptionally smart with the puck, creating plays thanks to great vison/hands combo. Defensively, Lippai is a blue-collar player as he likes to play the body and is effective at doing so. He also is constantly moving his feet and is get at applying pressure to opposing puck carriers.
Attila is the second Cretin player to commit to UST, as teammate Colton Jamieson committed to the Tommies last year.
