Former St. Michael-Albertville star Luc Laylin has announced his verbal commitment to play for the University of St. Thomas.
Laylin, 19, played junior hockey in 2020-21 for the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL. The 5’8, 170-pound forward put up 44 points in 58 games for the Magicians as he helped them reach the Robertson Cup Finals.
Laylin was named the Midwest Division Star of the Week two times last season and was selected to the All-Midwest team. After his successful season in the NAHL he was selected in the second round of the USHL Phase 2 Draft by the Lincoln Stars. Laylin will play with the Stars this season and should join St. Thomas in the fall of 2022.
Before juniors, Laylin was unstoppable at the high school level, scoring an astounding 177 points in 111 games over four seasons (2016-2020) with St. Michael-Albertville.
