Jack Ahcan made his NHL debut for the Boston Bruins on Thursday night, helping them defeat the Buffalo Sabres 4-1. Ahcan, a former Burnsville High School star, played 17:55 minutes and registered 3 shots on goal, one hit, and a blocked shot. Achan becomes the 281st Minnesota born player to skate in the NHL.
After not being selected in the NHL Draft, Ahcan continued to develop his game in the USHL for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and then at St. Cloud University. Ahcan has a polished hockey resume as he was the USHL Defenseman of the Year in 2016 and won a World Junior Gold Medal in 2017. Ahcan was the Captain of St. Cloud for the 2019-2020 and was signed by the Bruins after the season.
